About document-photo
document-photo is a free web app that turns an ordinary photo into one that fits a passport, visa, ID card or other document — the right size, head height and framing for the country's rules.
Your photo stays on your device
The photo is processed entirely in your browser: face detection, cropping and printing layouts all run on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to a server, and no account or e-mail address is needed.
Where the requirements come from
Every size and rule is taken from the authority that issues the document — a government site, a consulate page or the regulation itself — and each help article links that source next to the rules it quotes. Each article shows the date it was last checked. Where an authority takes the photo itself, or accepts only one from a photographer, the article says so.
Since 2022
The site has made document photos since 2022, and it is available in nine languages.
