Canada's official rules cover more than size. The background must be plain white or light-coloured, with enough contrast against your face and clothing. Keep a neutral expression with your mouth closed. Prescription glasses are fine as long as your eyes are clearly visible with no glare — tinted lenses and sunglasses are not accepted. Head coverings are allowed only for religious or medical reasons, with your face fully visible. The photo must have been taken within the last 6 months.
