The official photo sheet for Germany covers more than the size. The background must be a plain light colour — ideally neutral grey — contrasting with your face and hair, with no pattern and no shadows. Keep a neutral expression with your mouth closed. Lenses must be clear and free of reflections — tinted glasses and sunglasses are not allowed — and the rim or frame must not cover your eyes. A head covering is allowed only for religious reasons, provided your face stays fully visible.
