ID photo requirements in Spain

In different countries, the requirements for photo documents differ. You need to read them carefully, because even in one country, different requirements for a photo are different for different documents. Webappium tried to study these parameters and help make it as easy as possible to create a photo of the desired size and provide a link to the current requirements. You can also choose the size of the paper on which you plan to print the photo.

Photograph requirements in Spain depend on the document: the passport and visa use larger sizes, while the DNI (national ID card) and the TIE (foreigner ID card) share the compact 26 x 32 mm format.

Size: 40 x 53 mm, in color, on matte or glossy photographic paper.
Background: Plain, uniform white background, without shadows or patterns.
Head size and Orientation: Full face, front view, looking directly at the camera, with a neutral expression and mouth closed.
General requirements: No dark glasses or head coverings, except for religious reasons, in which case the face must remain fully visible from the chin to the top of the forehead.
The photo should be recent, taken within the last 6 months.

Size: 35 x 45 mm, in color, with the face occupying 70-80% of the photo height.
Background: Plain, light-colored (ideally white) background, evenly lit and without shadows.
General requirements: Full face, front view, neutral expression, eyes open and clearly visible, no reflections on eyeglasses if worn.
The photo should be recent, taken within the last 6 months.

Size: 26 x 32 mm, in color, printed on photographic paper. The head should occupy 70-80% of the photo height.
Background: Uniform, plain white background.
General requirements: Full face, front view, head fully uncovered, neutral expression, no dark or tinted glasses.
Head coverings: Head coverings are allowed for religious or medical reasons only if the oval of the face remains fully visible, from the hairline to the chin.
The photo must not be more than 2 years old, and physical print copies are usually required at the police station appointment (digital files are not accepted).
